A Peek At My Life

IMG_7984Hello everyone!!! Today I wanted to introduce myself to all of you a little bit more!

First and foremost in my life, I am a Christian. My family attends an amazing Lutheran Church in Aiea, Hawaii that we just love! The people we have met there are so great! They are friendly, welcoming, and so loving, which is how I try to live my life as well! The pastor and the children’s educator are so incredible as well! They inspire me and teach me, and I feel as though I could truly go to them with questions about anything, especially to learn more about God and His word, but also about anything in my life.

He truly is my best friend, and I wouldn’t want to spend a single day not loving him! The connection we share is just beyond words (trust me, I’ve tried)! Our marriage is the greatest partnership! I can turn to him with all my questions, concerns, worries, or really anything, and believe me I talk to him a LOT (he doesn’t even deny how much I talk). I am the luckiest lady in the world to have him! I could rave about him all day! He is in the Navy, and even though he is gone more often than he is home, he still manages to show me how me he cares almost every day, whether it is flowers delivered for Valentine’s Day, or a quick hello email sent during a five minute break.

49060493_10212652729064769_3429723370894131200_nI am a mom to two crazy little people! Braedyn just turned 9 this past month, and Sophia is 7. They are rambunctious and crazy, and so much fun! The two of them together are best friends, most of the time! They laugh, talk, and play together, as well as the occasional screams too. Braedyn has recently discovered that on top of reading, science, and Legos, he also loves baseball! Sophia, when she isn’t losing baby teeth like they’re my car keys, is also playing with Legos, loving Math, and begging me to go ice skating! In between all of the craziness, I try to take my time with them and enjoy the (rare) peaceful moments, because these short few years really do fly by. Then they are grown and having their own adventures and clearing their own way in this world, and I can’t wait to see where they go! The fact that my babies will grow up and go on their own is sad and beautiful all at the same time, and also the reason why I am a wife before I am a mom. I am a happier and better mom when I am a happy wife and have a happy husband, but also when the kids are grown and gone, I still want my husband to be my best friend rather than a stranger, and I want the kids to know what a happy marriage looks like!

I am a biologist, scuba diver, and nature lover! My degree is in biology, and I simply cannot ever get enough of all the critters! I just love basically every creature I have come across, and if I could save them all, I totally would, which is why we don’t really use plastic straws anymore and always cut the plastic around 6-packs. I am a certified rescue diver (hopefully moving up to divemaster soon), and I absolutely love it! Being on the bottom of the ocean floor is probably my number #1 happy place, besides being with Kyle! He is scuba certified now too though, so bonus!!!! Hiking, snorkeling, whale watching, beach cleanups, and laying on the beach watching a meteor shower are some of my favorite things to do with the whole family! We get to be outside, connecting with this beautiful planet, and the good vibes from that are too perfect to pass up! With my love of the outdoors, as well as my passion for making people happy, becoming a photographer was such an easy choice! I can combine the best parts of life in one career! Putting a smile on somebody’s face and being able to capture that moment so it lasts forever is just such an amazing feeling!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a bit better!!!
